Interview with William Springfield
How do you describe your Photography to people?
i’d describe my work as evocative. i want my imagery to have an impact on its viewer. i want the photos to be branded on their eyelids. i want them to see my images when they close their eyes. each time i create images i want to represent ME, i make sure that they are Powerful, Evocative images!
I see you Photograph in a wide range of subjects, whats your favorite?
my favorite thing to photograph would have to be Sexy women! who truly understand SEXY! not that maxim sexy, but the angelina jolie sexy, natalia vodianova sexy, noemi lenoir sexy! The EXTREMELY sexy without trying sexy!
Did your early photographic goals include earning a living from photography, or did it start as a way to express yourself creatively?
i never thought that i’d be earning money form my photography.i initially started taking photos of landscape because i like to capture the beauty around me. my modeling agent called me one day and said come take pictures of these models, i answered, but i dont shoot models. he said just come and dont argue with me. it doenst matter. everything is already set up just come and take the photos… those first photos ended up in my photography portfolio and i began my fashion photography career.
Do you remember your first photography sale?
the first photo i sold was a photo of an alligator hiding in the grass in the everglades.
Who are some people you would like to work with?
i would love to photograph Zoe Kravitz, there are many others, but she’s currently at the top of the list.
Do you feel like what you are doing is important?
not necessarily. i mean important to who? i mean its important because it keeps me from being homeless; HA HA!
Must art have a relationship to the rest of the world?
Art is inherently related to the rest of the world, art imitates life which imitates art. people make art form what they see, yet art tends to be How people see what they see.
Lastly, could you talk about any long-term goals you have in mind?
I would love to only take the photography jobs that i WANT to take which i would consider retirement. also after ive done between 5 & 10 yrs of acting i’d like to take my vision to film as a Director & DP. i think everyone should be able to See, the way I see!
