Describe your sound as if we were deaf.
Morning. You wake up acknowledging the wisdom you acquired from the chapter that is yesterday. You brew with excitement knowing that today is a day you’ve never seen; it’s full of promise and freedom. The possibilities of what you may experience are endless. My sound is emotion and life without restraint.
What producers, songwriters and/or artists do you see as your primary inspirations?
Stevie Wonder, Prince, Ella Fitzgerald, Erykah Badu.
Do you have a favorite musical project that you’ve worked on?
I have a song called “Green Eyes” off of my debut project “The Detox” that I’m really excited about.
What was the main factor for launching your career when you did?
Impatience. I was ready to make moves and I had to follow my intuition.
Chris Taylor, Brian Eno, Odd Future, Miguel, Vampire Weekend, Andre 3000.
How is the internet changing your craft?
The internet allows artists to be more accessible to fans and reach them on their own terms. There are tons of ways to discover new music and interact with people. It hasn’t really changed my craft, it’s just given me a wide range of ways to share my craft.
Do you feel like what you are doing is important, why?
I feel like pursuing my dream is very important. If you’re not doing what you love than what are you really doing?
Lastly, could you talk about any long-term goals or talents you have in mind?
I aspire to never stop growing as musician, vocalist and human being and to be able to reach the ears and hearts of people all over the world.
