Describe your sound as if we were deaf
I’d have to describe it as feel-good , contemporary R&B. It’s got a super old school vibe, but it’s something people of all ages can enjoy today. Theres the chill, summer jams, the love songs, and some heartbreak.. I write all my songs based on my own experiences, so it’s very relatable.

What producers, songwriters and/or artists do you see as your primary inspirations?
Well growing up playing piano, Stevie wonder and Alicia Keys have been huge inspirations.. But I’ve always looked up to Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Aaliyah just to name a few. Being around producers like Soundz, Tricky Stewart, or Pop and Oak and seeing how hard they work everyday is also very inspiring.

Do you have a favorite musical project that you’ve worked on?
Yes, the EP that I’m getting ready to put out this summer. I love the songs and direction and I really think everyone else will love it too!

What was the main factor for launching your career when you did?
Well I’ve been doing music for so long.. I’ve gone through many projects and songs but nothing really felt right to put out until now. It takes so long to develop a perfect sound as an artist and I knew I finally found a direction that worked for me. That’s when I knew it was ready to be heard.

Who are some people you would like to work with?
Missy Elliot, Alicia Keys, Big Sean, and Drake are just a few that I would love to work with in the future.

How is the internet changing your craft?
It definitely makes it easier to get my music around and share it with everybody. And it helps to be able to see the feedback from fans right away.

Do you feel like what you are doing is important?
Absolutely! Just from seeing the response, it seems like most people have been missing that classic R&B sound. We’re always going to listen to music, so I think putting something out that people can relate to and love is very important.

Lastly, could you talk about any long-term goals or talents you have in mind?
A worldwide tour and a few Grammys would be nice! I also want to start an organization to help kids around the world who are less fortunate. Those are really my biggest goals. I also love cooking and baking so going to culinary school and opening a bakery has always been a little dream of mine.
