Describe your sound as if we were deaf
My sound is refreshing. If you were deaf it’d be similar to the feeling you get when you step outside and are able to see the true beauty of the world through your eyes. I aim to make music that transcends myself and people can relate to. I like my sound to be sonically right and full. I think it is an open window and shows the standpoint I’m currently at in my life. A lot of the music I make is emotional and reflective. Its exactly how I’m feelin at the time.

What producers, songwriters and/or artists do you see as your primary inspirations
The artists that inspire me the most are emcees such as Jay-Z who is my biggest influence. I enjoy artists that are able to reinvent themselves as well as push the culture forward. I’m a huge 2pac fan from not only a musical standpoint but also because of the impact he’s had on the culture from a global standpoint. I’ve also always been inspired by Pharell and the way he approaches what he does both as an artist and a producer. Timbaland is probably my biggest influence as a producer.

Do you have a favorite musical project that you’ve worked on.
So far my favorite project that I’ve worked on was ‘Finding My Own’ because it was my very first project so the excitement and everything being new to me was definitely an experience. It is a “real” project in the sense that I sequenced and created songs in a mindset of how I wanted Finding My Own to come across to the listener.

What was the main factor for launching your career when you did.
I’ve been making music for a while starting early in high school. I was heavy in production back then and I made songs just out of simple enjoyment. I’ve always known that I wanted to make a career out of it. My confidence and comfortability with sharing my music came from those early years of recording. I built my skills and sound up to the point where I realized it was time to share my craft. I took one step forward and now I’m trying to jog to making my dreams a realty.

Who are some people you would like to work with.
I’d love to work with Big K.R.I.T. I personally love the music he’s making and I think we could make some super ill shit together, so if you readin this Krit, hit me up! ha. I’d also like to work with Frank Ocean on some records and I need a couple beats from Justice League haha. I’m a fan of musicians and instrumentalists. I love finding new talent and I’m always interested in ways to diversify my sound and learn from other artists.

How is the internet changing your craft
The internet is changing my craft because now artist are way more accessible to the masses. We have the ability to release more content and get it more places so artist now a days have to remain relevant at all times. Its taking away from actually being in your fans faces but we trying to make a point to make sure we in your face and on your screen.

Do you feel like what you are doing is important, why:
Of course because I feel like everyone can relate to music and turn to music to make them feel better or help them through a situation. Somebody out there somewhere can relate to at least one thing i’ve said in one of my tracks and make them feel a certain way. It may have helped them out, or changed their perspective on something. So to me its very important to continue to reach my listeners and whatever positive thing I’m doing for them, I know I’m helping and thats more important.

Lastly, could you talk about any long-term goals or talents you have in mind:
I plan on just continuing to make the best music that I can. That’s all I know I can do. Me and my team take it one step at a time but ultimately I want to be heard by everyone and change lives through my talent which is music. If I can be known for that, I’m good.
