Describe your sound as if we were deaf
2 words that my manager loves to describe the sound of the EP – simply put – Cinematic Heartbreak
What producers, songwriters and/or artists do you see as your primary inspirations?
Right now I’d definitely have to say Noah 40, Drake and the Weeknd are major inspirations, I love their sound. It has a darkness and sexiness to it that I find really alluring, takes you somewhere else.
Do you have a favorite musical project that you’ve worked on?
I can’t say any one project is my favourite. I love the EP simply because it represents the beginning, hopefully, of a career in music. My music and lyrics will only grow stronger with every project. So I’m excited to keep experiencing life and writing about it as I get older and (hopefully) wiser 😉
What was the main factor for launching your career when you did?
I think what has driven me is always the dream to have music as a career and only music. When you’re indie, its university, working, music and all the other factors that come into life. I just want to live in a world where all I do is work on my music!! That’s the dream.
Who are some people you would like to work with?
Definitely the boys I’ve mentioned above!! Drake, Noah 40, the Weeknd, JD. I definitely think our sounds would meld well together. That’s only in my wildest dreams though!
The internet is everything. It hasn’t changed my music in any way, it has just changed how you promote it, keep in touch with fans and bloggers. Bloggers really do play a massive role in the industry, without them our music wouldn’t be spreading like it is. I’m just glad that the reception to the EP has been all positive so far!!
Do you feel like what you are doing is important?
Hmmmm that’s a tough question. I think music is one of the most important things in the world. It connects people and gives them life-long memories. If my music can do that for someone, if someone can relate to my lyrics, sing along to it and enjoy it I think that’s pretty cool.
Lastly, could you talk about any long-term goals or talents you have in mind?
Wow I haven’t even really thought long-term yet, my goal right now is just to get my music out there, get people to hear it and enjoy it and hopefully pick up some fans along the way! If I could dream I would say a long term goal would be to be in the US writing for other artists and working on an album with an amazing team….but that’s just the dream 😉
