Interview with FreshPres

• Videographer/Photographer •

I see your Photography & Videography in a wide range of subjects from beauty to music artist, what’s your favorite?
I like shooting music videos especially because I’m really into music. So when I shoot a music video I can really expand my mind & give the world a piece of it. I love the fact that I take the artists words and bring them to life.

Did your early photographic goals include earning a living from Videography, or did it start as a way to express yourself creatively?

Nah when I first started I was just really doing it for fun. Me and friends used to throw party’s full time in the south. And I would just document everything we did throughout the week prior to the party whether it be us just riding around doing errands and cracking jokes. To us drinking and busting freestyles for fun to recording actual party. My friends were the ones to tell me to take it seriously. I love them for that.

Do you remember your first photography or videography sale?
Yup. The first music video I shot was for a rapper of Charlotte named Timbo back in like 2009-2010. We shot it on top of CP (community college) parking lot cause it had the Charlotte skyline.

Who are some people you would like to work with?
I want to work with 50 Cent & Nas before I die. That’s one of my goals. Those are my favorite rappers. If I ever got to shoot with them that would be beyond amazing. Also Spike Lee. Like he’s a genius. I love the cinematography in films. The vision. His angles. The fact that that you actually can relate to a lot of shit in his movies. You actually learn stuff as well.

Do you feel like what you are doing is important?
I don’t know if it’s important to the world but shit it’s important to me + it’s something that I love to do and no one could ever take that from me.

Must art have a relationship to the rest of the world?
Nah I wouldn’t say so. I feel like sometimes I’m in my own world when I create. So I don’t think it’s a MUST.

Lastly, could you talk about any long-term goals you have in mind?
I want to be on the big screen one day. Word. I want to shoot a film and have it premiere in theaters. Honestly… I just want my work to be remembered forever.

Where can we find your work?
My photography doesn’t have a place yet. Well I got a tumblr but I haven’t updated it. That’s on my to do list to get a site for my photography. I’m still pretty new at that but as far as my all my video work it’s on
